We simplify self-defense and firearms education,
so that you will be prepared to spot and respond to violent threats.
It's a simple 3 step plan
While we have taken them and respect them, we don't teach Martial Arts. We teach simple, easy to learn strikes, blocks and grabs, along with situational awareness. This method gives you the tools, to give you the edge and options to survive a violent encounter.
I've been shooting and carrying, open and concealed for over 41 years.
The techniques we teach are basic and easy to learn. Also, our classes are smaller, with more personalized attention.
Actually yes, most of our private classes can be taken by one or two people at no additional charge, so you can split the cost of the class if you chose to. Classes need to be scheduled together so you have to make sure you're both available and it's best if the skill level is relatively the same. We don't want someone who's very advanced taking a class with someone who's never held a gun before.
While shooting is available, it is separate and optional. We highly recommend adding the shooting component, to learn techniques and practices that are directly related to carrying concealed, such as being able to draw from a holster and use the firearm accurately.
A lot of other instructors teach the "where and why" of CCW but I also focus deeply on the "how" to actually carry. We discuss the best way to wear the firearm and how to deploy it. You also become part of our Mindset "family" and have continually access to me for future questions or concerns.
No, you will have the information and paperwork to apply for your CCW. We will go over how to fill out your application and finger print card and I will give instructions for submitting your application directly to the AZ Department of Public Safety. We will also be providing the course completion certificate that you will need to submit with your application. The state will also require a fee. Once the application is submitted and processed, you will receive your CCW card from the state.
Yes, Arizona allows non-residents to obtain an AZ CCW. AZ CCW is recognized in 37 other states.
There is not a simple answer. There are so many variables to look at, which we will discuss in our private training. You should also expect to test out several firearms before purchasing.
We believe that we can give you more information and value with smaller classes and workshops. You are able to get all of your questions answered and we can move at your pace, which is more time efficient.
The benefit of one on one or small group training is invaluable. With private classes, the student gets 100% of the instructors attention and we can discuss and address your specific situation and circumstances.
You need a caliber to be effective in a violent encounter. A good rule of thumb is to carry the same caliber as law enforcement.
There are subtleties and differences between every student’s situation, circumstances and skill level. By taking a private class, we can focus on your specific needs, such as your size, fears and past experience. Plus, you have a better chance of getting all of your questions answered, receiving feedback and learning more, in a shorter period of time.
A threat assessment is an inspection of a structure. Usually done for corporations, they can be a valuable asset to civilians to enhance the safety and security of their personal routine and their private home. The inspection is done of the perimeter of the property, all the way to the interior of the house. A report is then compiled, listing any security deficiencies and ways to improve them.
Due to very limited seating and the personalized nature of our business, we request that you cancel at least 7 days before a scheduled class or event. This gives us the opportunity to fill the class. You may cancel by phone or online.
If you have to cancel your class and do so before the 7 days, we will post a credit to your account, but do not offer refunds. You may use these credits towards future training. However, if you do not cancel prior to the 7 days, you will lose the payment for the class.
When you register for a class, you agree to these terms. Double check to make sure you are able to attend, as no refunds will be provided.
